The Watch Hut

I have recently been working on The Watch Hut (TWH) website. TWH is one of the UK’s largest watch website. I was one of the main developers of this project. I had to implement  the new design in to their current eSposure system. Which has been in planning and develop stages for quite a long time. Released just before the Christmas rush back in 2010, and we believe the new design has been a great success for them so far in this year.

TWH has also been awarded the ‘Pretigious E-Commerce Award’ from IMA (Interactive Media Awards). You can read more about it on the e64 blog.

The website was built on Classic ASP Technogly using the e-commerce system from e64 (eSposure). Which has been fully customised to suit the requirements of TWH.

Launched on both TWH and The Jewel Hut a new service from Amazon. Called Checkout By Amazon (CBA) which only a handful of online stores/businesses ( previous/current Amazon Marketplace users ). Had the chance to integrate CBA for when Amazon were launching CBA in the UK. CBA is a similar service like PayPal, but with Amazon CBA you can integrate the checkout in to your existing checkout process.

The benefits for the customers on sites that use Amazon CBA service. They can simply login using their Amazon.co.uk account, and carry on through the checkout stages without being redirected off the website. When they need there address and payment options theses are pulled from the Amazon account. So the customer doesn’t have to enter there details like normal checkout stages.

Amazon handles all this information via their secure servers so the business doesn’t need to worry about handling credit card details. Which also puts the customer to ease, as none of the information is passed to the business. Until the order is ready to be shipped the company receives the full address to ship the item.
